dont know if there is any truth to this, but Second basemen/outfielder Montaous walton has signed a free agent Deal with either the Minnesota Twins or the cleveland indians from what i been hearing. for those that dont know, Walton has been a diamond in the rough since 07, but had a productive summer in 08 as well as a very impressive season down in florida this year at the playball academy.
its crazy because i did hear that he signed a Deal with the minnesota twins, whoever he signed with im sure he is gonna be productive he has a good work ethic along with a great all around game and to top that blazing speed as usual 30 stolen bases is what he stole down in florida Capturing most outstanding player honors and the stolen base leader award.
haha he skipped his last year of eligibility at whitewater and competed at the playball academy down in florida the guy has talent, many people thought that he made a good choice to compete in florida, especially after Capturing those awards down there. well guys i believe he signed with the twins as a free agent and will play somewhere in their farm system.
the Twins? i would have always thought that the milwaukee brewers would have picked him up, but hey a team has needs i guess, every team goes by their needs especially when signing or drafting guys. im excited for him, because he was a guy that came pretty much out of no where and surprised many teams last summer.
the St louis Cardinals or any other national league team is where i can see him playing for, because his speed and athleticism speaks for itself when he is on the field. most people have him listed at six foot even, when he is really 5-foot-11.
overall Walton is a good athlete that is behind first round pick Levon Washington Speed wise running a 6.38 in the 60-yard while Washington Runs a 6.2 something the the 60 and both guys were probably two of the quckest in this years draft class. if Walton did Decide to sign with minnesota they should be very excited with his talent and ability that he has even if it is cleveland whoever he decided to sign with he should do well and be productive at that level.
with Walton signing on with minnesota along with other top signees and draft Picks this could really benefit minnesota in the long run as well, it seems as if they have more Veterans on their actual 40 man major league roster than young rookies. im sure Montaous can possibly make an impact and become a dominant player at this high level of competition, besides he's Young and very durable with alot of energy and athleticism i would definitely compare him to MLB all-star Orlando Hudson maybe.
its cool that he signed with someone, he should have been picked in the early to middle rounds, but i guess the Twins offered him a Big Free agent Deal. he is a great talent that has plus speed. he should become a big impact at the advanced rookie level, but as he moves up more in the system he shall be able to develop more.
his hitting is starting to improve, his defense has always been incredible and most importantly he has a positive winning attitude. i will say sky is the limit for this young man. he also is considered a work horse with a strong work ethic
